For the second year, the Commedia Beauregard is performing “A Klingon Christmas Carol,” just like Dickens intended!
Sadly, all the tickets for today and tomorrow are sold out (I just called and tried to get tickets and there are none to be had. Lets hope they do the play again next year).
Here’s the blurb on the play:
“Scrooge has no honor, nor any courage. Can three ghosts help him to become the true warrior he ought to be in time to save Tiny Tim from a horrible fate? Performed in the Original Klingon with English subtitles, and narrative analysis by the Vulcan Institute of Cultural Anthropology.
Charles Dickens is out of this world! For the second year in a row Commedia Beauregard is teaming up with the Klingons from the IKV RakeHell to bring you a new holiday tradition. It’s “A Christmas Carol” like you’ve never seen it before!
Commedia Beauregard is a Saint Paul-based theatre company dedicated to performing translated works. Proceeds from this event will assist in funding future productions, commissioning new translations of foreign-language plays, and helping to further the understanding of the world’s cultures.
“A Klingon Christmas Carol” is written and translated by Laura Thurston, Bill Hedrick, Christopher O. Kidder, and Sasha Walloch”
