Spending the morning in Westeros

What do you know Jon Snow?

Game of Thrones in on the big screen…IMAX and its wonderful. The last two episodes of season 4 and the season 5 trailer are being presented in IMAX theaters for one week and one week only. Also its the first time in IMAX history that they are showing a TV show. It officially opened Thursday night (1/29/15), but I went for the 10:30am show on Friday which had a grand total of 9 people (including me) in the audience. And wouldn’t you know it when I arrived there were 3 people seated and the next few people to arrive had to sit right in front of me. A 500 seat theater and everyone sits in the same area. Sigh. The best part of the showing, besides seeing everything in fine detail, was the sound. You never notice the sounds when its on TV, but in an IMAX show you do and it was amazing (sound editors really do not get enough credit). Did you know that in the opening credits the buildings make noise? How wild is that! At the opening on Thursday night viewers were given commemorative posters and when I stopped to ask the theater staff a question they still had one left! Sweet!
